This policy governs how I will disclose affiliations with any groups, products or people I choose to write about.
My disclosure policy is built around one principle – I will never accept money (or even free/review versions of products) to publish content. If I write a review or even mention a product, it is because I have paid for it and written about it because I chose to share my experience.
Writing about clients is complicated so I usually refrain from doing it. It is a situation where my need to be honestly and openly critical conflicts with personal feelings about my clients and even business development opportunities. Because it is such a conflict, I usually refrain from doing it. But when I do, I try to refer to the client in anonymous terms.
On occasions when I refer to and name a client, I will disclose the affiliation in the first paragraph and at appropriate times throughout the text of the argument.
