1. Jazz Chisholm Jr. truly confuses me. He can be one of my favourite players or he can look really lazy. I've seen both sides of him this season and unfortunately his dark side has lead the Yankees to the worst 6-7-8-9 in baseball. This could become a problem.

  2. It could become a problem because Ryan McMahon is looking at below average as his ballpark adjusted stats indicated before the trade. And I love watching Cabby but I don't see many reasons to be hopeful about his offensive production.

  3. Ben Rice has been absolutely amazing this season. It's been a small sample of games and he's only made 25 plate appearances so anything could happen, but a 1.244 OPS is absolutely incredible production.

  4. I love the Yankees so it's likely obvious how I feel about the Red Sox. But their fans deserve better than they're getting right now.

  5. The Dodgers look good, but my stomach isn't strong enough to watch them. So their numbers are good but I really have no idea how they're playing. I'm trying not to find out.

  6. I'm not sure what to think about the Blue Jays. On one hand, they're too good to be a sub .500 team. On the other hand, how good are they really? While it looked like they had too much pitching a few months ago, that sure changed in a hurry. They looked bad against the White Sox and injuries are starting to pile up. It's early so their bats will heat up and they can go on long winning streaks, but I'm surprised that a team that looked so unbeatable at the end of last season looks so mortal now.

  7. I'm also not sure what to think about Bo Bichette. He had his first multi hit game as a Met on Friday and he's looking really dangerous at the plate. But I would be very surprised if he's still playing third base by July 1. But then the biggest question becomes whether Bretty Baty at third is a big enough upgrade to risk alienating Bichette at DH.

  8. And then there's Jake Bird. I like Jake Bird a lot; his interviews are always great and he seems very smart. He had a great spring training and started the regular season great, but he blew it today with that sweeper that doesn't. He did a lot of work in triple-A last season and has been throwing his sinker much more this season, but it's very disappointing to watch that "sweeper" keep failing him.
