The Warehouse District is one of my favourite areas in Regina. It's unique and when I'm in the mood to explore a lot of different types of architecture, I like to start downtown, grab a coffee and slowly make my way into the Warehouse. The neighborhood has a lot of soul, my favourite brewery and many opportunities to remember things I did when very young and drunk out of my mind in such legendary (or so I tell myself) Regina clubs as Habanos and Manhattans; the old gay bar, the Exchange/Other Side and the State.
Well, the Warehouse District is putting on the 2026 edition of District Fest on Saturday September 12. The free, all-ages festival will have all sorts of family-friendly activities going on at The Yards, a local tap patio for those 19+, a bunch of other events and some great local artists playing the main stage on Dewdney Avenue. Indigo Joseph, who have been one of my favourite local bands for a long time, take the main stage at 7:15 PM.
There's also some kind of football game going on or something. :)
If you're in Regina or feel like taking a trip to visit the city that rhymes with Salina (Kansas - look it up if you don't believe me), come check out everything the Warehouse District has to offer.
